Dynomax Performance Exhaust: FAQ

Q) Which is louder the Ultra Flo or the Super Turbo muffler?
A) The Ultra Flo is a straight through internal design and will have a deep throaty tone, while the Super Turbo has a 3 tubed internal design and will have a deep mellower tone that is quieter than the Ultra Flo.

Q) Will your headers fit my vehicle if it is not listed for it?
A) Our headers are application specific and unless noted, we can not guarantee they will fit with an engine swap, a different application year, or lowered vehicle.

Q) How do your mufflers sound compared to a Flowmaster?
A) The Flowmaster has a higher pitched frequency while ours has a lower toned frequency.

Q) What makes your converter a high flow cat?
A) Our converters have a bigger frontal area on the substrate for a higher flow, and we have versions up to a 3" pipe diameter.

Q) Does a cat back kit include the converter?
A) No. A cat back kit is any or all of the components behind the factory converter.

Q) Can a Dynomax Bullet Race muffler be used as a resonator?
A) Yes. The Bullet Race muffler works very well as a resonator as it will not restrict the flow, but will slightly lower the dB of the system.

Q) Are Block Hugger headers application specific?
A) No. They are engine specific and are designed for hot rods and roadsters where the vehicle is being fabricated around the header.

Q) What is a mandrel bent pipe?
A) A mandrel bent pipe is a smooth pipe without any serrations, for a higher flowing system

Q) Do headers come with mounting bolts and gaskets?
A) Yes. Our headers include all the mounting hardware and gaskets. We also include a reducer pack that will allow you to connect the header to your pipe system.

Q) What is roving?
A) Roving is a high temperature fiberglass material that is inside a muffler to help absorb the sounds or an exhaust. Our fiberglass can withstand temperatures up to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Q) Can I remove my converter for a higher performance system?
A) For street applications it is against the law to remove or alter a converter.
